Account & Data Deletion
How to delete your Brilliant Chess account and the data associated with it.
You can delete your Brilliant Chess account and its data at any time, in any of the three ways below.
Option 1 — Delete in the app (recommended)
- Open Brilliant Chess.
- Go to Settings / Account.
- Tap Delete account and confirm.
This immediately deletes your account and personal data from our systems (subject to the limited exceptions below), signs you out, and clears the app’s local data on your device.
Option 2 — Use our online deletion form
You can request deletion from the web using our account deletion form — choose “Account deletion” as the type of issue and include your account email or username. We will verify and process the request.
Option 3 — Request deletion by email
If you can’t use the options above, email [email protected] from the email address on your account, or include your username or account email so we can locate it. We may ask a question to verify the request, then delete your account and data.
What is deleted
- Your account and profile (username, email if any, country, timezone).
- Your gameplay data — ratings, XP, level, streaks, achievements, puzzle history, and stats.
- Your friends and clan membership links, and your bot/computer game history.
- Purchase and subscription records held in our systems (Google Play separately retains transaction records as the seller of record).
- Identifiers associated with your account, and the app’s local data on your device.
What may be retained
- Online games you played against others are kept in anonymized form (your identity removed) so your opponents keep their game history and for anti-cheat integrity.
- Transaction records for your purchases are retained by Google Play (the seller of record) as required by law — these are held by Google, not us.
- Residual copies may remain in routine backups for a limited period before being overwritten.
For full details of how we handle your data, see our Privacy Policy.
